In 2000, the French architect Oliver Petit designed the Sun 2000, a small sailing cabin cruiser by Jeanneau whose water lines are reminiscent of those of a Mini 6.50. Squared stern, maximum beam set back and vertical bow starboard are the characteristics of this hull suitable for club racing and coastal cruising. Its small size makes it trailerable, an operation facilitated by the lifting external rudder and the mobile drift that reduces the draft to 30 centimeters. The rigging is split, with a small jib that can be replaced by an asymmetrical sail to be rigged on the retractable bowsprit.
