A carefully constructed French project; born for cruising, it allows good sailing performance. The Dufour 1800 is one of the many "successful" boats built in the 80s by this prestigious French shipyard. Born for cruising, the hull nevertheless reveals the advice of the expert racer Laurent Cordelle: it is fast in all gaits and has good handling at the helm. Made of fiberglass with a balsa deck, the Dufour 1800 is rigged at 7/8 with a large mainsail. The equipment on deck is simple, but complete, the deckhouse all windowed. The interiors, despite having a limited height (1.75 m), are well divided: a "living" area with kitchenette, chart and two sofas on the side; an intermediate area with locker and toilet room and then the forward cabin.
