El Jantje fue construido en 1970 como casco, luego ampliado y puesto en funcionamiento en 1973: Completado en 1970 como uno de los 3 cascos (proceso de laminado manual de fibra de vidrio en resina de poliéster) y comprado para su expansión por el escalador en el astillero Staack. Como era habitual en la época, los materiales eran de gran tamaño y muy robustos. El Jantje estaba equipado con lo mejor de todos los materiales de acabado como embarcación del propietario (cubierta de varillas de caoba y teca maciza, cabecera con poliestireno y lámina de PE aislada térmicamente). En el transcurso de los años 1985 - 1995, la pala del timón fue reemplazada por el escalador por uno más grande y el mástil por aluminio, así como un motor usado revisado. El propietario anterior llevó a cabo varios trabajos de mantenimiento y actualizó el yate. Se adjunta una lista de reparaciones enumeradas.
