Nimbus wants to appeal to a completely different group of customers with the new 300 Nova R, the top model of the recently launched "R series". Immediately after its debut, the extravagantly styled high-performance glider with a striking side silhouette and rounded rear end was awarded by the prestigious "Foundation for Swedish Industrial Design" for "exemplary elegance, high passive safety and contemporary comfort".

The patented stepped fuselage of the newcomer, which measures 9.15 x 3.10 metres, is the heart of the design. Innovative ventilation ducts running transversely to the direction of travel are intended to improve acceleration values and significantly reduce the glide limit. Six- and eight-cylinder Volvo Penta engines combine with Duoprop Z-Drives to provide truly rapid propulsion, with counter-rotating propeller pairs to increase thrust.

In the hydraulically opening engine room, two high-tech turbodiesels of the type KAD 300, each with 3600 cm3, 24 valves and speed-dependent compressor engagement are waiting to flex their muscles. Together, they generate a beefy 402 kW (546 hp). the top speed measurement in the Gothenburg archipelago results in an impressive 47 knots (87 km/h).

The underwater hull guarantees excellent driving stability even in extreme situations, and the cockpit offers seating for up to ten people.

A real feast for the eyes is the delicately designed, very clear dashboard in a sporty aluminium look. The suede-covered rudder can be handled just as precisely as the Volvo EDC gearshift, which literally reacts to the touch of a finger because it is fully electronic
