A piece of German yachting history – classic 6.5 KR sea cruiser "Greyhound" from 1935

For sale is the "Windhund", an extraordinary classic sea cruiser for lovers of traditional yachts. The ship was built in 1935 by the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft and thus looks back on more than 90 years of eventful history.

Originally commissioned under the name "Nöck" for the Hamburg coffee roaster Sachs, the yacht was later owned by the Wedel-Schulau sailing club. During the war years, she was even used as a ferry on the Elbe without a mast. In the 1970s, she came to Travemünde, where she was given her current name "Greyhound".

From 2000 onwards, the classic was extensively restored at great expense. Particular emphasis was placed on preserving the traditional character of the ship and at the same time integrating contemporary technology on board.

A newly built wooden mast is also available.

Classic lines & traditional yacht building

The "Greyhound" presents itself as a classic round bilge with an elegant spoon bow, yacht stern and long keel with iron ballast. The full teak deck, teak in the cockpit and the traditional wooden details give her the unmistakable character of a classic yacht.

Motorization

A Volvo Penta MD 2040-D, 3-cylinder diesel from 2007 with 37 hp / 27 kW, ensures reliable propulsion under engine.

The engine has dual-circuit cooling and shaft drive, among other things. Tachometer, hour meter, engine temperature, oil pressure, volt and fuel gauge are available.

Rig & Sail

The yacht is top-rigged and has a wooden mast with two pairs of spreaders and a wooden boom.

The equipment includes, among other things:

* Furling genoa approx. 21 m² with tarpaulin
