The Jantje was built in 1970 as hull, then expanded and put into operation in 1973: Completed in 1970 as one of 3 hulls (manual lay-up process glass fibre in polyester resin) and bought for expansion by the climber at the Staack shipyard. As was customary at the time, the materials were oversized and very robust.
