Description:
In 1992, Paul Staneck designed the first Aquilon catamaran and improved in 1995 the finish and comfort at sea-passage. The boat gained in freeboard, length (35 cm added to the two coachroofs), headroom, but also a little weight (which made it a little lazier in light airs), and the Aquilon 800 was born. This model has been modified to a proven economic Solar-electric catamaran, The German owner converted his sailing catamaran type AQUILON 800 into this Power-cat with solar-electric propulsion. With the 2 electric outboards, the cat sails at approx. 6-7 knots of speed + additional built-in gasoline outboard. The full battery charge is sufficient for a day trip at medium speed. The batteries can be charged via the solar roof or any shore power connection and are equipped with a battery management system. A unique and rare solar powered catamaran with amble space and battery-capacity for emission free cruises on rivers, lakes or sheltered waters (category C). The owner offers his proven solar cat for sale for age-reasons. The cat is available for viewings and to be handed over in 2025 the centre of Germany -currently ashore-.
