Carlo Riva, fondatore del cantiere Riva, è la mente dietro il concetto di MonteCarlo Offshorer negli anni '70. Poco dopo aver venduto Riva a Bertram, l'ing. Riva riportò un'idea innovativa dagli Stati Uniti: il primo scafo profondo a V-step, un progetto molto innovativo perché i gradini nello scafo esercitavano un certo effetto "lift" sullo scafo, rendendolo più veloce e leggero sulla superficie dell'acqua. Bob Hobbs, un matematico visionario e architetto navale che ha inventato il primo scafo V-step, si è imbattuto in gravi problemi di produzione nel sud della Florida. Carlo Riva gli fu vicino e coinvolse anche Cal Connell (proprietario e fondatore di Mercruiser) e portò l'innovativo concept in Italia per portarlo in produzione. E nasce il MonteCarlo Offshorer, in un piccolo cantiere navale di Ventimiglia chiamato "Mare e Sole", a poche miglia da Monaco. Il MonteCarlo Offshorer divenne rapidamente un'icona della Costa Azzurra. Sono stati costruiti un totale di 343 Offshorer: una delle storie di maggior successo nel settore della nautica. L'inconfondibile logo del MonteCarlo Offshorer evoca fortemente il concetto di velocità e allo stesso tempo gli anni stravaganti della "Dolce Vita" in Costa Azzurra. Oggi è ancora considerata una delle barche più eleganti mai progettate. Ancora più importante, lo scafo e le linee subacquee sono ancora considerati i migliori mai concepiti. Consentono una grande maneggevolezza e un'elevata tenuta di mare e consentono velocità molto elevate anche in acque agitate. Questa MC30 è equipaggiata con due motori Crusader V8 da 375 CV. questi sono considerevolmente più leggeri e potenti dei più popolari motori a gas Mercruiser (che sono utilizzati anche nella maggior parte dei Riva Aquarama). L'MC 30 è in perfette condizioni, i motori sono stati sostituiti e sono più recenti.
