La Jantje è stata costruita nel 1970 come scafo, poi ampliata e messa in funzione nel 1973: Completato nel 1970 come uno dei 3 scafi (processo di lay-up manuale in fibra di vetro in resina poliestere) e acquistato per l'espansione dallo scalatore presso il cantiere navale Staack. Come era consuetudine all'epoca, i materiali erano sovradimensionati e molto robusti. La Jantje è stata equipaggiata con il meglio di tutto il materiale di finitura come nave dell'armatore (ponte in mogano e teak massiccio, acqua di prua in tutto con polistirene e foglio di PE isolato termicamente). Nel corso degli anni 1985 - 1995, la pala del timone è stata sostituita dallo scalatore a una più grande e l'albero in alluminio, così come un motore usato rivisto.
