The Weremeer is one of the most characteristic classic sailing ships in the Netherlands. A unique ship with a special history and appearance. The hull is a lifeboat (nmmer 5) of the steamship De Volendam of the Holland-America line from 1922. In 1953 this teak wooden sloop was converted into a seagoing sailing ship with two masts, eight sails and a heavy, swept keel.
